| How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not? by Crown Inspiring, a glimpse of how it's done. | I think it's very inspiring to see how someone who has made a true success out of himself actually did it. People who call him a "parasite" are a bit naive. This is how business works. He has taken advantage of other peoples talents, allowing them to thrive by offering their services and making money off of him too. The company you work for is making money off of you aren't they?
His positive attitude is contagious, and this is part of the appeal of this book. I got the audio version and have listened to it twice now. My husband and I own some income property already, and it has inspired us to look for more and take it to the next level. It's a good read! | | How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not? by Crown An easy, fast read to get on track! | How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not?
This book is for anyone that has been searching for the answers and just needs a little direction and some accountability. It is also perfect for the new investor because it explains the terms and concepts in easy to understand, plain English. It is a very fast read. I didn't want to put it down.
I attended a real estate seminar at sea with Robert and he is exactly how he portrays himself in the book. Sometimes you read a book and wonder if the writer has had real life experience with the subject. I can tell you that he is the real deal and very approachable.
| | How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not? by Crown More of the Same but with Some Attitude | At first, this book turned me off a bit because of Shemin's approach. He calls himself a "Rich Idiot", a sarcastic and self-deprecating monniker that really means "I got rich the better way". He claims that being called an idiot as a youth actually helped him to get where he is today, almost suggesting that this might be a good way to parent. It turned out he has a bad form of dyslexia. There is research that suggests that dyslexics thrive as entreprenuers because they are forced to take action, rather than be pensive and analytical. So his predisposition to become a Rich Idiot may be due more to his dyslexia than to being called an idiot.
Anyway, the fact is that there are many ways to get rich. His approach is just one of those. For example, people get wealthy through some professions, e.g. doctors and lawyers, or the entertainment industry for example. His approach is just one of many. For people looking to become rich, this book repeats many components of the usual formula: you can't do it by working for someone else (see Rich Dad, Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money--That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!); you need a goals (see just about every other motivational speaker, although Shemin has a twist on this); you need to get into real estate (again, a ton of these out there); investments; or, own your own business (see The Millionaire Maker: Act, Think, and Make Money the Way the Wealthy Do. Shemin includes these three areas but so do others (see Multiple Streams of Income: How to Generate a Lifetime of Unlimited Wealth! Second Edition, and Allen covers many other options).
So what makes Shemin's book different? Basically, he boils down all of the above to the simple step of taking action. It's almost a "Just do it" Nike message. It's very convincing, however, and it's something that one should heed, to see if it works and to become a Rich Idiot, like Shemin. | | How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not? by Crown Made me laugh and take copious notes | | I purchased the audio CD version of this and then the Kindle version because I found myself taking so many notes from the material discussed. Robert is talented in being funny as he shares stories and keys to being a Rich Idiot! Very fun and educational to listen to on road trips. Make Today Great! Tom | | How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not? by Crown In other words...help me make money | So the deal is this.
You wanna make money? Write a book that idiots will buy and you'll be rich.
Easy, no? | | How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not? by Crown Product Description | In How Come That Idiot’s Rich and I’m Not? bestselling author Robert Shemin reveals for the first time the inner-circle secrets of the mega-wealthy. Have you ever wondered why some people attract wealth while others stay financially trapped and in debt? The key is wealth-friendly, upside-down thinking. Stick with all the old moneymaking rules and stay broke. Break them and get rich. This is the book that shows you how.
We’ve all read about the college kid who made millions on a brainstorm, or the couple who made a fortune in real estate, or the guy in his thirties who waved good-bye to his boss and now lives on his investments. But until now, how they did it—the rules they followed or flouted, the tricks they stumbled on—have remained a mystery.
That’s about to change. Whether you’ve been trying to get rich but haven’t quite made it yet, or just need the confidence to dream big, this is the book for you. As experienced as Shemin is at showing high-net-worth individuals how to get richer, his real love is helping self-described “financial disasters” earn millions. And he uses his own odds-defying story to illustrate the outside-the-box thinking that gets the job done. Here, you’ll learn how to:
• set only one powerful success goal—and make it a big one • play while your money goes to work • stop building someone else’s business and start building your own • live and think like a millionaire while you’re becoming one • use the power and “smarts” of other Rich Idiots to help you join the Rich Idiot Club • add OPI (other people’s ideas), OPT (other people’s time), and OPE (other people’s experience) to do less and make more • tap into timeless secrets that unlock the energy and spiritual power of money
Learn which three assets you must own to become a Rich Idiot and how to obtain them with little or no money of your own. Learn why Rich Idiots outearn almost all the so-called wealth experts and how you can, too. Above all, learn how doing just one thing a day will bring you to your big goal.
In this book, the first to show you what it really takes to achieve financial abundance, Shemin illustrates in a fun, witty way how going against the grain is, in fact, the surest way to gain. Spend just a few pages with Robert and his Rich Idiot friends and you’ll be convinced that “if they could do it, I can do it.” |
