Everyone has their own opinions, and this is mine. Excavation is one of the most unique, interesting, and thrilling books I've ever read. And I've read thousands of books through my life. Does that age me? lol
James Rollins has the gift of making an unrealistic plot seem totally real. A very hard thing to do with a book in this category.
This is definitely a page turner in my opinion.

| This is where my love for Rollins started. It was the first book of his I read all those years ago and man was I hooked. I went out and bought so many books after this because the story just dragged me in and all I wanted was more. Highly recommended. |

| The book started out very well, seemed to have a good story line and an engaging story line. Had a little of Indiana Jones at the beginning when they were trapped in the cave. Then the plot turned to the same old story line, I think the Rollins books use the same story line and just change the hero's and setting. Again, too much sci-fi. I was given many of the Rollins books for Christmas, I wished the money would have been spent on something else. I have 5 more books to read, I just hope one of them comes close to a Cussler or Ludlum novel. |

| This is one of those books that speed-reading was written for. Not much depth in either the plot or the characters but for what it is it is a quick fun read. The book is a Raider's of the Lost Ark type of Archeological adventure set in South America amongst the ruins of the Incas. Along the way a bit of stuff thrown in here and there. If you have a flight and not much else to do this may be fun (but there may be better stuff out there too). |
