It offers a myriad of perspectives from all Americans not just those with doctorate degrees or trapped in their ivory towers. I have used the text for my courses and have not had one student indicate that it was a nothing book or that they did not learn something of value from the book. Moreover, when the book is updated, the publisher and editor put an effort into demonstrating the changing landscape that is race, class, and gender bias in the "United States of America." |
