Beware if using for MOS Certification to Expert Level

Beware - this book only covers Specialist (ie basic) Level MOS Training - on it's own it is not suitable for those preparing for expert level exams (ie for those wanting MOS Master Instructor Status) and working toward this in a non-classroom situation.

Considering other books on the market I think this book is very overpriced - particularly as it doesn't include any outlook training (in addition to not having word or excel expert level training which seems a bit mean). I

think your best bet is to look at the microsoft or certiport site and to check their recommended products to find a suitable book - there seems to be a much more comprehensive microsoft one for much less £££. (Prentice Hall had a v good MOUS series I used for learning and teaching 2000 but alas not available for MOS 2003)...

Not sure if the 'online training' which the publishers apparantly offer actually exists but I haven't found it.

This book may be ok for those with not much experience but overall I still think that new starters can find books that are far more easily absorbed and much better value. Many of the key concepts are buried in the text and not adequately highlighted enough for new starters to speedily absorb.

Since the book teaches technology you'd hope the cd would offer more training tools than simply a few practice files needed for the exercises in the book as well but sadly not.

My feedback would be not to make the same mistake I made, to save your money and to look elsewhere. Also, I'd suggest that you print out the MOS Exam criteria from the MS MOS/Certiport sites and double-check that the book you want to buy really does cover everything you need for the exam before you purchase it - clearly not all MOS approved course books are created equally so maybe worth a trip to the store to check next time!

Excellent textbook, easy to follow. I would recommend to all the computer beginner learner should buy Microsoft Office 2003 by Nita Rutkosky because this book show step by step include many exercises, explanations, concept skills, quick steps (shortcut)etc... Overall, easy to learn and understand, lot of details, and fun to learn.
