| Social Science and the Challenge of Relativism: A Wilderness of Mirrors : On Practices of Theory in a Gray Age (Social Science & the Challenge of Relativism) by University Press of Florida excellent scholarship |
| This book is not for the naive reader, but it is terrific compendium of information for the reader genuinely interested in the philosophy of knowledge. Extraordinary scholarship, detailed footnotes, a wealth of information, carefully analyzed. A significant contribution. |
| Social Science and the Challenge of Relativism: A Wilderness of Mirrors : On Practices of Theory in a Gray Age (Social Science & the Challenge of Relativism) by University Press of Florida theoretical promise |
| This book is one of the most carefully researched treatments of social theory available. The author uses a challenging vocabulary which, given the level at which many text are currently written, requires some adjustment; however, the content is logically presented and exceptionally well documented. An excellent treatment for those serious about the study of social theory--its history and its prospects. |
| Social Science and the Challenge of Relativism: A Wilderness of Mirrors : On Practices of Theory in a Gray Age (Social Science & the Challenge of Relativism) by University Press of Florida Poorly written |
| I had the misfortune of reading this book as a graduate student. It is poorly written, overly pedantic, and without merit. Nobody would read this book unless forced by a professor whose goal is to generate profit for himself and other second rate academics.
The author should also be informed that using archaic and esoteric words does not make him appear impressive. |
