| I'm not in position to discuss the great knowledge the author posses about Christian Churches, it's only a bit surprising the big weigth he give to USA in the history of all these, having in count these country only has 200 years old. Indeed It seems he's an American, but I think this is clear, Jesus wasn't born in New York, and I don't think the USA had so big religious figths and controversies. Reform and Counter- Reform were things and wars fougth by Spanish, Italians Scandinavics, Germans and English people: summing up the North againt the South of Europe. Too much blood an suffering to be reduced so simply. Sure this is inevitable and I enjoyed the book, because I don't know much similar works (not at less in Spanish). To write such work must be very difficult, but inevitably, I think these task is plenty of the danger of oversimplification. |

| This book is easy to read and flows well for those who get bored easily with reading. It is great for understanding the history of the Church. It is a little thick to be in paperback though. But informationally it is well done. |

Very good and informative book with simplified and vigorous language which covers the main events in church history. It would have been better if the author had included biographies of important persons that played a role in church history. |

| I am reading this book in concert with a Church History course. The book provides a solid overview of over 2,000 years of history of the Christian Church. It does an excellent job of highlighting the key movements and failures throughout that history. The book is easy to read and does not require an advance understanding of the topic. I would recommend it for any lay person seeking to understand the changes that have occurred in the Christian church since the Book of Acts was written. |
