Ghost Hunting: True Stories of Unexplained Phenomena from The Atlantic Paranormal Society by Pocket One of the best books.........
Sci Fi channel's "Ghost Hunters" is one of the most eye-opening TV shows out right now. The "no-nonsense" style of TAPS'S paranormal phenomena research techniques is wonderfully evident in their book "Ghost Hunting". This is a wonderful read for any one with paranormal interests!
Ghost Hunting: True Stories of Unexplained Phenomena from The Atlantic Paranormal Society by Pocket a fine outstanding read
I will say that this book is a great read and every one who watches the show or ghost hunts needs to read this book. The book covers cases from before SCIFI picked them up to going into more details of cases from the show. It also gives you a little back ground history into TAPS and its founding members. For newbies into the field of ghost hunting it has a glossery in the back explaining the terms used in the book and ghost hunting and a small guide to help a newbie get into ghost hunting. All in all this book was a good book with great information and lets you see the show in a new perspective.
Ghost Hunting: True Stories of Unexplained Phenomena from The Atlantic Paranormal Society by Pocket If you're a fan of the show you should read this book...
First let me say that I am not a big reader. If I read 3 books a year that is a lot. I became a fan of Ghost Hunters after discovering the show while surfing channels and I've been hooked ever since. So when I heard about this book I HAD to get it. The first 18 chapters deal with cases that were never shown on T.V (because they took place before television came calling). It's a shame, because I would have loved to have seen some of them considering what took place! The rest of the cases are ones that were on t.v. but I still enjoyed reading about them, especially since the authors reveal some things that ended up on the editing room floor. It's a nice easy read. Definitely a book you could take to the beach if you're not into the type of genre usually recommended for summer reading (i.e. romances, crime novels, etc).

I could not put this book down. I love ghost hunters and thought that the book would be as good as the show and of course it was. I love it.
Ghost Hunting: True Stories of Unexplained Phenomena from The Atlantic Paranormal Society by Pocket Ghosthunter Fans---Check this out!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I'm a fan of the show anyway, and I like the approach that TAPS takes with their work. That's what drew me to this book in the beginning. But I soon began to enjoy the book for itself.
Jason Hawes is the principal writer, and Grant Wilson adds a personal touch at the end of each case. He also writes the final chapter. The well-known author Michael Jan Friedman does an excellent job collaborating with them. Jason and Grant offer their paranormal experiences to the reader in a straight-forward, conversational manner.
The first part of the book provides a fascinating inside look at how the TAPS team came to be. You'll recognize a number of the cases presented in the book from the TV show, but the guys also describe cases that were not taped for television. Some of them really blew me away. These gentlemen and their teammates have great respect for their clients, and that makes it even more impressive.
I strongly recommend this book. It's an easy, captivating read for those who enjoy exploring the paranormal, either in print, on film, or in person. |
Ghost Hunting: True Stories of Unexplained Phenomena from The Atlantic Paranormal Society by Pocket Product Description
The Atlantic Paranormal Society, also known as T.A.P.S., is the brainchild of two plumbers by day, paranormal investigators by night: Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. Their hair-raising investigations, fueled by their unique abilities and a healthy dose of scientific method, have made them the subject of a hit TV show: the SCI FI Channel's Ghost Hunters. Now their experiences are in print for the first time, as Jason and Grant recount for us, with the help of veteran author Michael Jan Friedman, the stories of some of their most memorable investigations. The men and women of T.A.P.S. pursue ghosts and other supernatural phenomena with the most sophisticated scientific equipment available -- from thermal-imaging cameras to electromagnetic-field recorders to digital thermometers -- and the results may surprise you. Featuring both cases depicted on Ghost Hunters and earlier T.A.P.S. adventures never told before now, this funny, fascinating, frightening collection will challenge everything you thought you knew about the spirit world.
