| Healing With The Angels by Hay House Beautiful Book for all Faiths | My line says that this is a beautiful book for all faiths, and I believe that it is. It is a beautiful BOOK. However, I recommend taking the advice therein with a grain of salt, as well as her other books. After reading several of them, I noticed that there are a lot of passages which I feel have more psychological than practical benefit, and which sound like the passages of a cheap self-help book. One might speculate that Doreen's training as a psychologist does play into her suggestions, particularly on the subconscious level, since she says that so much of her writing is "channeled". There's also a ton of "fluff" in these books; musings, anecdotes, stories, reassurances to the reader, and so forth.
Doreen also plays heavily to those who are previously or currently of the Christian faith. Her basic explanations of angels are not dogmatic, per say, but her own opinions are, and they play heavily across the pages of the book. She praises the Christian god, and even though she hails angels as being non-specific to any religion, advocates contacting the archangels Michael, Gabriel, and other Christian angels whose names escape me at the moment.
All in all, if you're into angels, get this book! You will love it. However, if you are like me, and are simply on a path of spiritual discovery, without the hindrance of any particular religious inclinations... you may want to purchase ONLY ONE of Doreen's books. They tend to repeat the same themes, and review a lot of the same content. The only thing that really changed dramatically across the span of four books was the anecdotes. And the anecdotes are amusing and uplifting the first time, but becomes tedious and passe with each additional book you choose to read. Even if you are very much into angels and you are of the Christian faith, you may still find that purchasing more than a small handful of Doreen's books leaves you with a shelf full of her books, and a yield of far less spiritual knowledge than if you, say, bought just one more book by an author whose writings were more factually dense. | | Healing With The Angels by Hay House Healing With Angels | | Excellent information for those interested in angels. It's scarey when today people who spew out this junk are able to hold a degree. Sorry but true. This book is junk as well along with everything else she has written. She is popular with the mainstream because everything she writes is so easy to follow and no meditation or effort is required. Having studied the occult for awhile now over the years it's not this simple...Angels are not a genie waiting to grant your wish. If that were true...why aren't they off healing child and people with cancer,...or saving children and adults from horrible fates EVERYDAY not just a story here and there on the repulsive Oprah show.
