| How to Make a Journal of Your Life by Ten Speed Press Essential must have:)! | This is a book written straight from the right side of the brain:)!
Delightfully well written and joyfully illustrated, the author's enthusiasm for making one's life journal is infectious!!One begins to see everything in a new light as one reads along...and the next thing you know, you visualise yourself creating your own journal....and the next thing? You're off to get some paper/notebook and some pens...and with new found confidence instilled in your heart, you've begun to write and draw...and even take those 'special' moments photos with elan!!
If you've ever wanted to write your own journal and have been intimidated by the general notions of needing to create something "artisty" and "fancy" to make it look and feel like a journal, this comes to your rescue in style.
You'll love it for the joy the author shares with you about the process of creating the book.....and that of helping you creating your own journal.Go get your copy:)! | | How to Make a Journal of Your Life by Ten Speed Press Awesome | | I really enjoyed this book. He has some great ideas! | | How to Make a Journal of Your Life by Ten Speed Press Inspired me | Although I didn't get into the whole drawing thing (I am just really terrible at it) and I use my journal for my personal thoughts as well as description of what goes on around me, I got a lot of ideas from this booklet and got really into collecting stuff to paste into my journal. Also, I sometimes get people to write a thing or two in it...which gives it a real personal note.
Worth reading if you are into journal writing or scrap booking.
| | How to Make a Journal of Your Life by Ten Speed Press I can't wait to journal my life! | I loved this book. It's very true to it's title. Sometimes with books like this you expect something and get something totally different. Daniel Price gives practical, do-able advice. I wanted to run right out and get a journal to start chronicalling my life. I enjoyed his personal stories. With journals like this I sometimes feel like I have to have perfect pages, but this book made me realize that's not so.
This book was much smaller than I anticipated (in size), but it's packed full of useful information. I was able to pack it in my purse and read it casually. This is what a journal should be.
| | How to Make a Journal of Your Life by Ten Speed Press Fun and a dash of realism | | Price takes an organic and adventurous approach to life. This mini-book shows how he uses the simplest of events to create an exciting journal. He proves that you don't have to be a fabulous artist to convey your life visually. And anyone's life can qualify as interesting. A journal should say more about how you think than how the world simply appears. A great lesson in taking notes on your own life. |
Tiger Performance Boosts
James Duncan Davidson: “There are some specific performance updates, however, that are very noticeable. One of the biggest is in the Terminal. The speed improvements in the text rendering subsystems really shows itself here. Dump lots of text to a Terminal window and it just screams by in comparison with Terminal on Panther.”

Carbon vs. Cocoa: The Speed Issue
A post at Unsanity.org is bound to stir up the holy wars.
My personal opinion is that Cocoa and Carbon don’t matter that much, it’s apps that matter. Good and bad apps can be written in both. That said, NetNewsWire is a Cocoa app, and I prefer to write in Cocoa.

IF vs Switch
PHP Beginner: “When I first started programming in C many of my programs were littered with IF statements. Is this good programming or there are better ways? What about SWITCH? What is better to use and how can this help to speed up your script execution time?”

Apple’s Jaguar - sliced and diced
The Register: “What should gladden the hearts of the patient X faithful, if our correspondents are not engaging us in a vastly elaborate hoax: is that with Jaguar Apple has the performance issues nailed.”
The other new features are nice, but whatever—speed is what I want. That and more developer docs and samples.
