| The Towers of Hanoi Puzzle by Ingenious and Fun |
Just as the description says "This is an interactive puzzle, not a book." When I first read that I though on this is the instruction manual for the puzzle that someone put on the Kindle without the puzzle. Much like several of the print book/CD combos that are available on the Kindle where you only get the book. But then I noticed that the description said "Specially designed for the Kindle" and it was only 99 cents so I bought it.
It's very neat, clever and fun. The classic Tower of Hanoi puzzle appears on the page and all possible legal moves are listed as links. You choose the move you want to execute by selecting the link. That results in the picture being changed to correspond to the move you make. You keep doing that until you win or come to a dead end. At any point you can choose to begin again.
I found this to be an ingenious use for the Kindle and I hope to see a few more puzzles like it that play right on the machine. Not too many though because I don't want to get to distracted from my reading - but a 5 minute puzzle break is fine and fun. |
