Dobbs: Declaring war and raising his profile

The articulate Mr. Dobbs digs out some good research behind the "dissapearing Middle Class." He is heavy handed at times but dares to bring to light some interesting and incendiary thoughts.

Is there a DECLARED war on the Middle Class? I don't know. I do know Corporate America DOES operate lean and mean whenever it can, sometimes to the detriment of its very own human resources. A "human" treatment of this topic comes forward in the timely political thriller: Uncle Juan's Cabin.

Government at times is a Sugar Daddy that facilitates corporate globablization. Do some of the millions of dollars saved by an offshoring/outsourcing company trickle back into politicians' pockets in the form of campaign contributions? "Yes," I declare.

But government, as it incents or allows offshoring and outsourcing, must remember the busines model of Henry Ford. He hired thousands to build his early cars AND paid those workers enough to BUY those cars. Thus, the Middle Class grew and grew.

I liked how Dobbs included The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, The Bill of Rights and the Amendments to the Constitution in the end of his book. We are all talking about patriotism here, so it is good to have those foundations of our nation at our fingertips.

War On The Middle Class

This is a must read for all Americans. It expresses Lou's deep concern about the loss of our middle class due to the financial influences of our corporations, and lobbyists on our federal government officials. He warns the loss of our middle class if "we the people" don't wake up. He encourages "we the people" to register as independents then our elected officials will not take us for granted. Even though I am a life long republican, I plan to register as an independent. Get this book, read it and share it.

War on the Middle Class-Excellent!

What a great book. If only our country's leaders would be more mindful of the plights of the middle class- the backbone of our great USA.

Product Description

Prominent CNN host and commentator Lou Dobbs unleashes his manifesto on the vanishing American dream

Through his nightly CNN show, Lou Dobbs Tonight, his syndicated radio program, and his monthly magazine column, Lou Dobbs has become one of America’s most visible, popular, and respected voices on business and financial matters. Now, with War on the Middle Class, Dobbs takes an impassioned and rousing stance on the all-out class war that is turning the American dream into a nightmare.

The middle class has never been so vulnerable. Its every feature is under assault by politicians and the lobbyists who court them, big-business corporations that are sending their jobs overseas, and a media that relies on sensationalism instead of facts when reporting the news. In a sweeping analysis, Dobbs looks at every aspect of the decline of the middle class—from a lack of political representation to America’s corrupt health-care system—to demonstrate how the gap between America’s newest haves and have-nots is no longer merely financial, but instead includes the erosion of education, employment, government, and community. Dobbs proposes a series of measures to resolve each issue and incite people, whose future is being mortgaged to benefit a powerful few, to preserve their rights and dreams. War on the Middle Class is provocative, incendiary, and bound to be widely discussed—the perfect book to establish the terms of debate in this year’s midterm elections.
